March 2026 Edition
Foreword
Welcome to this edition of our Newsletter!
As we move into the first signs of Spring, the team at Acacia Homecare NWS has been busier than ever. This month has been monumental as we transitioned from internal planning to active community advocacy. We were incredibly proud to host local Councillor Harry Boparai at our office recently. It was a vital opportunity to ensure the voices of our customers, their families, and our dedicated "Angels" are heard where it matters most.
Whilst we continue to expand our reach and advocate for a fairer care system, our core mission remains focused on the wonderful individuals who make up the Acacia family. This month, we are celebrating a wealth of milestones, from welcoming Tolu to our office team to celebrating several two-year anniversaries and a fantastic group of staff who have successfully passed their probations.
We are also thrilled to announce our latest "Angel of the Month," Jaspreet K, whose dedication perfectly embodies the warmth and excellence we strive for every day.
As we look ahead to the rest of the year, we are continuing to review and improve our services to ensure we provide the best possible support for our community. We hope you enjoy catching up on all our latest news, achievements, and even a new recipe to try!
Until next time, enjoy the read!

Advocacy in Action: Shaping the Future of Local Care
We were pleased to recently welcome local Councillor Harry Boparai to the Acacia Homecare NWS office to discuss the future of homecare within our community. This visit was a vital opportunity to bring the "reality of care" to the policy table, moving beyond our daily operational pace to engage in high level advocacy with local government.
During the visit, we dived deep into the issues that matter most to our customers, their families, and our frontline "Angels." While providing high-quality homecare is a privilege, we recognize the systemic hurdles that exist. At Acacia, we are committed to being more than just a service provider; we are advocates for a better, fairer care system. By hosting these discussions, we are ensuring that the voices of our customers and their families in North West Surrey are heard at the highest level. We look forward to working closely with Councillor Boparai in the future to continue championing the rights of those we support.

Customer Appreciation
At Acacia Homecare, we are incredibly grateful for our community. We are delighted to share the latest updates on our quarterly Customer Appreciation awards and the wonderful charities they support.
September Winner: Heather Monro
We begin by celebrating Heather Monro, our September recipient. Heather chose Surplus to Supper as her designated charity. Following her win, we were honoured to donate £880 to their cause this past December to help support their vital work in the community.
December Winner: Crecencia Dias
We are also excited to officially announce that our winner for the December quarter is Crecencia Dias. Congratulations, Crecencia! We look forward to seeing which charity she selects for our next round of support.
Office Team Changes
We are delighted to officially welcome Tolu, who recently joined our Rota Planner and Admin team this March. Tolu has hit the ground running, already describing her experience with Acacia Homecare in three lovely words: Refreshing, Warm, and Welcoming. To help you get to know our newest face, we asked Tolu for some fun facts!
While she is now an integral part of our care operations, she admits that if she weren't in this industry, she’d likely be working in Hair and Beauty. She is famously easy-going, claiming to have no pet peeves at all, and lives by the relaxed mantra, "It is what it is." When she isn't busy coordinating rotas, you’ll find Tolu recharging with her "secret" energy boosts: holidays and cake! She’s also a fan of Smoked Haddock Fishcakes and enjoys a unique Hibiscus, Rose & Sweet Berries tea. Please join us in giving Tolu a huge Acacia welcome when you see her in the office or catch her on the phone!

The Ultimate Salt & Chilli "Fakeaway" Box

A legendary staple of British-Chinese takeaway culture. While inspired by Cantonese Szechuan flavours, this dish originated in the 1960s in northern UK cities like Liverpool, created by immigrant chefs who adapted traditional spices to the local love for crispy chips and chicken.
Serves: 2-3 People
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Pre Hear Oven to: 180°C
Ingredients
-
Protein: Chicken balls or Salt & Chilli chicken pieces.
-
Base: Frozen or homemade chips.
-
Veg: 2 onions (sliced), 1 bell pepper (sliced), 1 fresh chilli (sliced), shredded spring onions.
-
Aromatics: Sesame oil, Soy sauce.
-
Garnish: Fresh coriander.
Instructions
Step 1: The Initial Cook
Preheat your deep fat fryer to 180°C. Fry your chicken and chips until they are cooked through but not quite at peak golden brown (usually 5–7 minutes depending on the size of the chicken). Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 2: The Wok Base
Heat a splash of sesame oil in a wok over high heat. Toss in the onions and peppers. Add a dash of soy sauce and a generous pinch of your seasoning mix. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until the onions are translucent but still have a "snap."
Step 3: The "Double Dunk" (The Secret)
While the veg is sizzling, drop the chips back into the 180°C oil for 60 seconds. This second fry is what makes them "takeaway crispy." Drain and toss them immediately into the wok.
Step 4: The Final Toss
Add the fresh chillies, spring onions, and another heavy dusting of the seasoning mix. Give the chicken a quick 30–60 second re-dunk in the fryer to crisp the coating.
-
If your wok is large: Toss the chicken in with the chips and veg for 30 seconds to coat.
-
If the wok is full: Plate the chips/veg first, top with the chicken, and sprinkle the remaining seasoning over the top.
Step 5: The Finish
Garnish with fresh coriander and serve immediately.
