The term sexual assault is a large umbrella and includes all of the following:

• rape
• molestation
• unwanted sexual contact of any form
• sexual harassment
• incest
• child sexual abuse
• sexual violence
• sexual exploitation
• human trafficking
• voyeurism

This month is not about speaking out because it is "trendy". We are speaking out to create/spread awareness and encourage others to do the same.

Sexual assault can happen to anyone and by anyone (male or female). We as a society must use every opportunity to educate those around us.

100% of the responsibility for sexual assault likes within the perpetrator(s). There is no excuse for it, nor will there ever be a justified or reasonable explanation.

It was found in the UK that 95% of women who faced sexual abuse have NOT reported it due to thinking nothing will come from speaking out.

By spreading awareness we can help people feel it is okay to come forward and speak the truth.

Let's give survivors and their strength the recognition they deserve and prevent others going through the same.

As mentioned in a previous post this month is stress awareness month.

We all face different stresses (that cause us to all react differently) each and every day.

In realistic terms no one is asking you to not be stressed. It's one of those things that makes us human and good in moderation.

This month is about learning how stress effects you personally, how you feel when stressed and what helps you overcome these feelings and hurdles it throws at you.

High levels of stress can be extremely damaging to your health. It plays a significant faceted in mental health issues like anxiety and depression.

However most people forget it can be linked to physical health problems like heart disease, insomnia, digestive issues and excessive hair loss.

When trying to combat stress it is important to remember that what work for someone else may not work for you and that's okay!

We are all individuals and amazing ones so don't feel disheartened when something doesn't work.

Stay tuned to our account for more ways to help us combat stress and find a much easier way to live!

Our logo is now up on the "Ways into Work" website.

We have loved working with the Ways into Work team and couldn't imagine a more perfect partnership.

What they do is help enable people with a disability or disadvantage to gain and maintain employment.

We cannot wait to continue working with the team to support and get as many people as we can out to work!!!

“The support workers gave me confidence to carry on, I had someone to talk to, who took the time to really listen to me. I looked forward to the days when the care worker visited me.”- Doris, Harrow
“I had peace of mind, when I went out shopping, knowing that Doris was not left home alone. I felt reassured that a familiar face was with her which would stop her worrying while I was out. She was able to play her chart music with the support worker and this gave Doris some time for herself while I was out.”- Doris’s partner, Harrow
“From the start, booking, meet and greets etc., Acacia Homecare have been professional and friendly in equal manner. Both my mother’s support workers have been excellent with my mother who has enjoyed their company and felt at ease and happy. I would use your service again and would like the same support workers to return. Thank you to everyone involved.”- Sally, Hillingdon
“I found Jo and her team caring and thoughtful, and my mum was very fond of the carers she met. They were able to be very flexible and to respond quickly to our requests for help. I can thoroughly recommend them.”- K (Daughter of patient), Barnet
“I feel well cared for and in control of my life.“- M, Barnet
