This is a great interview with Norman Lamb. Acacia’s view on this is that the reforms are heppening, though unfortunately, there are still too many people that have not got behind the implementation of the system. It is time that the whole care sector gets behind the reforms and all make it happen. The benefits will only come about if everyone pulls together. It is also time that the plans for the implementation are made public so that the whole care sector can be ready to do their part.

Organise urgent care better, NHS told

BBC News Service

We believe that all of the organisations need to work better together in order to provide the best possible care. We are constantly trying to work with many different organizations, unfortunately this does not seem to be the norm.  We hope we will break down these walls and raise the bar in this industry.
Acacia have built partnerships with several charities and other care companies to help reach out to those who need care, its slow work, but we are getting there.

Care Quality Commission has long way to go, say MPs

BBC News Service

This news article goes some way into criticising the performance of the CQC. Although there have been examples of mistreatment within the care industry, we feel it is unfair to lay the blame for this solely at the feet of the CQC and tarnish the whole industry. In our opinion, the UK government need to help local authorities to increase their budgets to help the vulnerable and not decrease it. We have a growing population of people, family, friends that need help day to day, by reducing local authority budgets, care providers can only cut corners or close doors.

Also, care providers themselves need to better manage their own business, that means their staff, their cash flow, their quality assurance etc. The blame cannot only lay at the feet of the CQC, maybe the government should look a little deeper into exactly where the short fallings are coming from?

At Acacia Homecare, we strive for excellence, we invest in our people and ensure that we do not cut corners when it comes to our ability to provide care for our community.
